GemStreet USA Show & Sale comes to Cincinnati March 2-4
Shop from aisles and aisles of custom-made jewelry, colorful beads, stunning gems, unique home décor items, rare minerals and fascinating fossils when GemStreet USA Show & Sale comes to town March 2-4, at the Sharonville Convention Center.
“You’ll find internationally recognized fine jewelers, talented artists and knowledgeable collectors who search the world over for the earth's most cherished gems, minerals and fossils,” says show producer Jane Strieter Smith.
Spring and summer jewelry trends will be unveiled at the show, too. For instance, when the sleeves start getting shorter, it’s time to rediscover bracelets.
Jennifer Wrassmann Pottner, clay artist and owner of Urban Raku of Mason, offers a gorgeous collection of bold, chunky, mixed media bracelets, playing with different elements—leather, metals, clay—and interconnected shapes. Raku is a technique of firing ceramic components to create a rainbow of brilliant hues.
“I enjoy playing with color and textures that come to life when I fire the clay for pieces that are rustic, modern and edgy,” she says. Each bracelet should be custom fit to your wrist, and Jennifer will do that at her booth while you wait.
In addition to bracelets, she creates interchangeable, layered pendant necklaces, and also brings along an assortment of collars and strands to build your own jewelry.
Says Jane, “Urban Raku is just one example of the artists and collectors who make our show so special—offering one-of-a-kind items you won’t find anywhere else.”
And speaking of one-of-a-kind, look for home décor items that range from crystal and mineral beds that act as centerpieces and book ends, and petrified tree roots that are fashioned into funky bowls and side tables, as seen on Ellen.
Show hours are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $7 general admission, and free for children under 12. The ticket is good all weekend and parking is free. The Sharonville Convention Center is located at 11355 Chester Road, Sharonville, Ohio 45246.
