GemStreet USA Show comes to town November 9-11
Just in time for early holiday shopping—browse through aisles of one-of-a-kind items, necklaces made with diamonds mined from around the world to fascinating fossils unearthed in geological digs to colorful clay beads from Africa, at the GemStreet USA Show & Sale November 9-11, at the Fairgrounds at Hamburg.
One of the featured exhibitors this fall is Bernie Pisarchick of Lodin’s Gems & Minerals. A geologist who is a retired FBI gem and jewelry expert, he will showcase a large selection of cabochons including unique Charoite and Seraphinite mined in Siberia, Russia; Lapis from Afghanistan; and Amber from Madagascar and other regions of the world.
“Show attendees will find beautiful and unique gems, jewelry and fossils at GemStreet USA,” says Bernie, who also is a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America and a goldsmith. “In addition to faceted gemstones and loose stones, I will have fossils, mineral specimens, meteorites and petrified wood at the show.”
There will be lots of bling, too, featured at the three-day sale, including the latest holiday jewelry trends that incorporate intricate beadwork and wire wrapping, along with all colors of gemstones and pearls. And if you want to make your own jewelry, you will also find an array of beading supplies, tools and educational materials.
“We are a boutique show and sale where you will find that something different,” says Lakewood resident Jane Strieter Smith, of Strieter Productions, which organizes these shows in the Midwest. “We bring together a kaleidoscope of fine gems, jewelry, beads, crystals, minerals and fossils all under one roof for a unique shopping experience.”
GemStreet USA takes place at the Fairgrounds at Hamburg, 5600 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg, 14075. Show hours are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
