GemStreet USA Show comes to town May 17-19
Explore, discover and shop from one-of-a-kind items curated from around the world—fine gemstones and crystals, hand-made jewelry, colorful beads, fascinating fossils and mesmerizing minerals—at the GemStreet USA Show & Sale May 17-19, at the Fairgrounds at Hamburg.
One of the featured exhibitors making this shopping experience exceptional is Bernie Pisarchick of Lodin’s Gems & Minerals. A geologist who is a retired FBI gem and jewelry expert, he will showcase a large selection of minerals and fossils.
One of his most popular new items is opalized petrified wood from Indonesia. He says it was formed millions of years ago when tropical forests were blasted with lava and volcanic ash, producing layers of turquoise, copper and brown. Also at his booth, you’ll find a treasure trove of semi-transparent Simbircite cabochons, from Russia, with a beautiful display of amber, brown and black.
There will be loads of bling, too, featured at the boutique show and sale, including the latest summer jewelry trends that incorporate intricate beadwork and wire wrapping. Don’t miss MultiFacet Productions’ booth, with a host of artfully designed jewelry.
And if you want to make your own jewelry, you will find an array of beading supplies, tools and educational materials.
GemStreet USA takes place at the Fairgrounds at Hamburg, 5600 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg, 14075. Show hours are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $7; free for children under 12.
