We'll use a base set of 4 sizes, but through experimentation you can create you own combinations for different variations. The Helix Spiral Rope is an elegant spiraling tubular rope that will dazzle your friends and impress them with your skills. Tension is the trick to getting a firm tube that can be a bracelet, necklace or lariat. The Sedona Spiral is a variation of the DNA spiral, but what makes it different is the use of metal spacers to set off the semi–precious, fire–polished, pearls and/or crystal beads you use in the spiral. This makes a stunning bracelet that works up fast, and is great for gifts. Projects will not be completed in class.

Anne came to jewelry design via ceramics. A studio potter for 25 years, she started making ceramic beads and pendants in 2005. A need to showcase her beads and pendants in finished pieces drove her to kumihimo braiding. The interplay between the soft textiles and in the braids and the hard surface of the clay created a juxtaposition that she finds appealing. Anne began teaching kumihimo in 2007 and realized that the answers to many questions from her students were unavailable in print form. This led to the book Braiding for Beaders which has quickly become the definitive book for jewelry designers who want to use braids. Braiding for Beaders is a how to book for jewelry designers who are interested in learning how to incorporate braids into jewelry designs. Anne can be contacted via her website at www.mosshollowpottery.com.
